●  Introduction

Direct drive motors can generally be divided into two types: frameless direct drive motors and housed direct drive motors.
A frameless direct drive motor mainly consists of a stator and rotor. Users need to integrate components such as the rotor mounting shaft, encoder, and bearings, making system integration more complex but allowing a highly compact equipment structure and greater design flexibility.A housed direct drive motor integrates the stator, rotor, bearings, encoder, and motor housing into one unit. It is easier to install, align, and operate, making it suitable for applications requiring convenient integration.
Compared with conventional motor-and-gearbox systems, direct drive motors simplify the mechanical structure by driving the load directly. They can improve positioning accuracy, dynamic response, and motion smoothness while reducing mechanical transmission components, production cycle time, and maintenance requirements.

High Precision and Comprehensive Functionality

No homing required after power-on

Absolute encoders can identify the current position immediately after power-on, eliminating the need for a homing operation.

High-Precision Positioning

A single revolution can be divided into 540,672 pulses, providing positioning accuracy of up to ±30 arcsec, with some models achieving ±15 arcsec. Repeatability can reach ±5 arcsec.

Easy Installation and Convenient Alignment

Mounting grooves and threaded holes are provided on the rotating and stationary sections to facilitate installation and alignment. The hollow shaft also allows centralized cable routing.

Compact Structure and High Torque

Direct drive motors can drive relatively large loads while maintaining high rotational speeds, providing a compact solution with high torque density.

Smooth Cam Profile Motion

A variety of cam profiles can be selected according to application requirements, including Modified Sine (MS), Modified Trapezoidal (MT), Modified Constant Velocity (MCMC1), and Trapezoidal-Sine (TR) profiles, providing flexibility for different motion applications.

Dust-Protected Structure

The rotating section of the drive mechanism is sealed on applicable models, helping prevent dust ingress. Some models are designed to meet the IP65 protection rating.

Environmentally Friendly and Energy Efficient

Energy is consumed primarily during rotation. When the rotary axis is stopped, power consumption is significantly reduced.

No Lubrication Required

No additional lubrication oil is required, helping eliminate contamination caused by oil leakage.

Simple Structure and Space Saving

The direct drive design eliminates the need for components such as a homing sensor, gearbox, and conventional motor, simplifying the overall mechanical structure and saving installation space.

Easy Specification Changes for Multi-Application Use

Programs and operating parameters can be modified through a programming terminal, computer, or other control interface to accommodate different motion requirements, allowing one system to support multiple applications.
